Day 1 - DEPARTURE TO BARI
Meet at the airport. Check-in, boarding formalities, and flight to Bari on a low-cost airline. Depending on the arrival time, there may be an opportunity to visit Bari. Then, transfer by local coach to your 3-star hotel in the Itria Valley. Welcome aperitif depending on arrival time (or on the 2nd evening if arriving late). Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 - SIGHTSEEING HIKE IN THE ALBEROBELLO REGION
Breakfast and departure by coach to the Itria Valley. In the morning, hike through these vast olive groves, born from this fragrant reddish soil that transforms the panorama into a succession of breathtaking chromatic effects. Packed lunch. In the afternoon, visit Alberobello, the city of Trulli. These curious circular houses topped with a conical roof retain an enigmatic appearance, with traces of inscriptions and religious and astrological signs. The first were built in the 15th century, but they took their current form in the 17th century. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 - SIGHTSEEING HIKE IN MATERA
Breakfast at the hotel and departure by coach to Matera. The hike will begin in the Murgia Materana Regional Park, also known as the Park of Rupestrian Churches and Human History, offering magnificent views of the city. Packed lunch. In the afternoon, the visit to Matera will continue, walking along the famous Sassi, a complex of cave dwellings carved into the mountainside (exterior only). Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 - SIGHTSEEING HIKE IN THE OSTUNI REGION
Breakfast, and departure for a hike in the Ostuni region. You will hike in the coastal dunes regional park of Torre Canne and Torre San Leonardo. The park extends over 1,000 hectares between the territories of Ostuni and Fasano, in the province of Brindisi. It stretches along 8 km of coastline and allows you to traverse numerous landscapes: agricultural areas with pastures, olive groves, dunes, and wetlands. Packed lunch. In the afternoon: visit the city center of Ostuni "The White City," a picturesque town perched on the last foothills of the Murge, so named because of the color of the houses in the charming medieval village, whose layout recalls an Arab kasbah. Visit an olive oil mill and taste local products. Transfer to a 4-star hotel near Lecce/Galatina. Check-in, welcome aperitif, dinner, and overnight stay.
Day 5 - SIGHTSEEING DAY IN LECCE
Breakfast and departure by coach to Lecce. In the morning, visit the city known as "Baroque Florence." The delightful, aristocratic old town, charming and refined, offers a theatrical setting where the spirit of an ancient cultural tradition is exhaled. In the 17th century, Lecce covered its medieval monuments with a baroque mantle, fancifully crafted from blonde stone that gives the city a warm color. Lunch in a "masseria" (an old farmhouse, agriturismo style) with a menu of typical dishes. In the afternoon, visit the historic center of Galatina, a sumptuous city rich in baroque palaces, which also houses an invaluable artistic gem, the Basilica of Saint Catherine of Alexandria with its 15th-century frescoes. Day 6 - SIGHTSEEING HIKE IN GALLIPOLI
Breakfast at the hotel and departure by coach to the Porto Selvaggio Regional Natural Park. Stroll through this wild paradise of 1,100 hectares. Discover this enchanting place, a concentration of Mediterranean landscapes formed by dense pine forests, fragrant scrubland, steep coves with numerous caves facing a crystalline sea. Packed lunch during the stroll. In the afternoon, visit Gallipoli, the city of the sea. Anchored at the end of a long promontory, the ancient Greek Kallipolis, "the beautiful city," occupies an islet guarded by the powerful castle towers.
