Day 1 - DEPARTURE TO VERBANIA
Departure from your location towards Italy via motorway. Free lunch stop en route. In the afternoon, continuation and arrival at the hotel in the Verbania region, on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 - WALK IN VALLE VIGEZZO
Morning: Warm-up exercises followed by an introduction to Nordic walking or technique refinement. Then, walk through the stone village of Malesco, located at an altitude of 687 m, typical of the valley. Arrival in Santa Maria Maggiore via a path through a beautiful Scots pine forest. Stretching (3.5 km route to Santa Maria Maggiore) followed by lunch at a restaurant.
Afternoon: Guided visit of the small town center of Santa Maria Maggiore, the valley's primary political and religious hub, featuring the Church of Santa Maria Assunta decorated by local painter Borgnis. Guided visit of the small Chimney Sweep Museum, which is very moving as it recounts the history of child emigration. Bus journey with the guide to Craveggia, a town with historical ties to France. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 - WALK ON THE BALCONY OVER LAKE MAGGIORE
Morning: Warm-up exercises upon arrival at the Nordic Walking location. Nordic walk through the villages of Oggebbio, a true balcony over the lake, Cadevecchio, Camogno, Travallino, Gonte, offering magnificent views, narrow streets, and beautiful churches. The walk alternates between paved roads, gravel, and trails. Stretching. Lunch at a restaurant in Cannero. (27-minute journey, or 17 km, between the restaurant in Cannero and Pallanza)
Afternoon: Journey to Pallanza with the guide and visit to the botanical garden of Villa Taranto. This 16-hectare garden is renowned for its profusion of flowers and rare plants, visible in every season. The garden's current appearance is the result of a painstaking endeavor undertaken in 1931 by Captain Mc Eacharn. Estimated visit time (1 to 2 hours) + photos. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 - WALK IN MACUGNAGA AND TO MONTE ROSA
Morning: Nordic walk in the Anzasca Valley, which extends up to the summit of Monte Rosa at 4634 m. Warm-up exercises upon arrival at the Nordic Walking location. Walk from Pecetto at the foot of Monte Rosa through the various villages of the Walser civilization, which settled in this valley with a great capacity for adaptation to a rigorous environment and typical larch wood architecture. Crossing through the villages: Isella, Staffa, Pecetto. Walk on trails, forest tracks, and paved roads. Stretching. Lunch at a restaurant.
Afternoon: Guided visit of the ancient Dorf of Macugnaga, the small cluster of 13th-century dwellings. Then, departure with the guide by bus to Isella and a short walk to Borca (distance 900 m, elevation gain 100 m, and paved road) for a guided visit of the Walser House Museum and the Guia gold mine, which was active for over 200 years (gold mine with 1.5 km of galleries, visit 40 min to 1 hour. Times: 2 PM - 3:30 PM - 5 PM). At the end of the day, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 - WALK TO THE SPIRITUAL LAKE ORTA
Morning: Warm-up exercises upon arrival at the Nordic Walking location. Nordic walk on the western shore of Lake Orta between Gozzano and Pella, on paved roads and some trails. Stretching. A walk mostly along the lakeside with beautiful views of this gentle and romantic landscape, featuring scattered old houses, the medieval village of Orta, religious sites such as convents, and the Sacred Mount. Lunch at a restaurant.
Afternoon: Boarding a boat with the guide to San Giulio Island with a small private shuttle and transfer to the island, followed by a guided visit of the Basilica with its mysterious black marble pulpit, dating from the Middle Ages. Guided visit of the island, passing through the 'Street of Silence'. Return by boat and guided tour of Orta San Giulio, which boasts numerous villas, churches, and romantic narrow streets, as well as the Palazzo della Comunità, Piazza Motta, and the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6 - RETURN
Breakfast and departure towards France. Free lunch stop en route. Arrival in your locality in the evening.
