Day 1 - DEPARTURE TO PAPHOS
Meeting at the airport in France. Boarding formalities and flight to Paphos on a low-cost airline. Upon your arrival, assistance and welcome by our French-speaking team. Then transfer by coach to your 3-star superior hotel in Limassol. Welcome cocktail at the hotel. Local aperitif served around 6:30 PM daily before dinner around 7:30 PM. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 - SIGHTSEEING HIKE IN AKAMAS, TO APHRODITE'S BATHS AND PAPHOS
Breakfast and departure towards the north of Paphos and the Akamas forest, near Aphrodite's Baths, where, according to legend, the goddess of love used to bathe. Along the route, several spots offer magnificent viewpoints over the coast of the Lara Bay Peninsula, Chrsochous Bay, and Latchi Bay.
Lunch at a restaurant facing the sea. Afternoon: visit to the Archaeological Park of Paphos, home to the most beautiful mosaics in the Mediterranean. Since 1980, it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The entire Park includes sites and monuments dating from the 4th century BC, most of which date back to the Roman period. On the way back, a final stop at the village of Yeroskypou (Sacred Gardens) where the artisanal production of Cyprus's best 'Loukoums' is an old tradition that still supports several families. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 - HIKE IN THE VALLEY OF PISSOURI AND OMODOS
Breakfast and departure west towards the village of Pissouri, halfway between Limassol and Paphos. The villages of Pissouri and Kalopanagiotis are two of the 55 best Cypriot villages in the world. Both hikes take place south of Pissouri village. Starting point in the village square. You will cross small hills offering spectacular views and an extraordinary geological experience with marine life fossils, hundreds of meters below sea level.
After the hike, you will continue to the charming wine village of Omodos, nestled in the heart of the Troodos mountain wine region "Krassochoria". Lunch in Omodos at a warm and friendly family inn serving an excellent rural MEZE. Afterwards, visit the Monastery of the Holy Cross in the village center and its museum of Byzantine icons. After a brief stop at the Old Wine Press, you will make a final stop at a vineyard at 'LINOS' Winery for a small tasting, including the sweet Commandaria wine. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 - SIGHTSEEING DAY IN NICOSIA
Breakfast and departure towards the capital, Nicosia.
Stop en route at the village of Choirokitia to visit a farm and discover the artisanal production of "Anari" and the famous Cypriot cheese "Halloumi", probably the island's most important product. Tasting of Halloumi and also Cypriot coffee prepared by the villagers. Continue the journey towards Nicosia. Stop at a remarkable place called "Kakaristra". A very interesting open-air archaeological site. Then visit Nicosia, St. John's Cathedral with its beautifully preserved 18th-century frescoes, built on the ruins of a Benedictine abbey from the Lusignan era. Cross the old city and arrive at the Green Line of separation. Lunch at a typical tavern. The afternoon is dedicated to visiting the Cyprus Archaeological Museum. It is the country's richest museum, boasting a vast collection of antiquities and artistic treasures ranging from the Neolithic to the Byzantine period. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 - HIKE IN AYIA NAPA, LARNACA AND SALT LAKE
Breakfast and departure towards Famagusta, Larnaca. The starting point for both routes is located at the Agioi Anargyroi church picnic area, with drinking water and sanitary facilities. A beautiful walk along the coast. The sea caves are only accessible by sea, and the area is suitable for diving. The trail offers breathtaking views of Konnos Bay, which is particularly impressive. The path continues parallel to the beach to reach the Agioi Anargyroi Church, built above a sea cave. Through shrub vegetation, you reach the natural bridge "Kamara tou Koraka" (The Raven's Bridge), formed by an astonishing geological formation. Pass through the "Blue Lagoon", the Cape Greco Peninsula, the Canyon to reach the famous "Sea Caves".
After the hikes, head to Larnaca for lunch at a seaside tavern. Then, stroll through the old quarter along "Finikoudes" Avenue (Palm Tree Avenue), followed by a visit to the famous Byzantine Church of St. Lazarus. Departure for Limassol with a brief stop at the "Salt Lake". A 2.9 sq km lake classified as a Ramsar site in 2000, one of Europe's most significant biotopes. In winter, the lake is filled with water and hosts migratory birds, including thousands of flamingos. Continue towards Limassol. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6 - HIKE IN PERSEPHONE, KAMPOS TOU LIVADIOU, ASINOU AND GALATA
Breakfast and departure towards the Troodos National Forest Park and the Solea Valley. The hiking trails start at Troodos Square "Persephone" and "Kampos tou Livadiou" at the picnic area with drinking water and sanitary facilities. Hike in the Troodos mountain forest. Dense forest of black pines and golden pines, century-old trees. Rich vegetation and breathtaking views from the Makria Kondaria location. We then continue to Asinou to discover the wonderful small Byzantine church of Panayia Phorbiotissa, dedicated to the Virgin. The churches of Asinou and Panayia Tou Araka are considered the most important Byzantine churches on the island. They are part of UNESCO's official World Heritage sites.
Lunch at a charming traditional tavern. Continue the journey through the Solea Valley to visit the Byzantine church of Panayia Podithou in Galata (village of balconies), built in a folk architectural style partly along the Klarios River Valley. The houses were built with local stone, all featuring wooden balconies and red tiled roofs. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7 - HIKE TO PETRA TOU ROMIOU "ROCK OF THE GREEK" AND KOURION
Breakfast at the hotel and departure west from Limassol towards Paphos to reach the municipality of KOUKLIA, on the coast south of the old coastal road. This entire region belongs to the Paphos Natural Park. Starting point for the hike at the "Beach Friendly Dogs" beach on the Kouklia side. Arrival at the mythical site of Petra tou Romiou, the beach where Aphrodite, the most famous goddess of Greek mythology, was born from the sea foam at this precise spot. The entire itinerary is a coastal path leading hikers directly to Petra tou Romiou beach, an unmissable mythical site in Cyprus. The attraction of this beautiful hike: numerous different viewpoints of this magnificent wild coast with its limestone rocks, as well as the famous 'Rock of the Greek'. Also discover different types of Mediterranean vegetation and flowers maintained and protected by the National Water and Forest Service. The trail also passes through a developed park/picnic area with benches, drinking water, and toilets, where hikers can take a short break. Swimming is possible upon arrival at the beach at the foot of the famous Aphrodite's Rock.
Lunch at a tavern/restaurant in the region. The afternoon is dedicated to visiting the ancient city of KOURION, overlooking the magnificent Episkopi Bay and its imposing cliffs. It is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular archaeological sites on the island. Visit the House of Eustolios and its delicate mosaics dating from the 5th century. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 8 - RETURN
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time depending on flight schedules. Transfer to Paphos airport. Boarding formalities and flight to France on a low-cost airline.
